Chapter 3 of Eight Things to Know about Large Language Models notes "LLMs often appear to learn and use representations of the outside world". So apparently this is not limited to making drawings of pink unicorns, but also building 3D shapes of plastic bricks.
I did some reading up on LLMs, transformers, hidden states, encoders and decoders. But still i'm not totally sure how a language model is able to mentalize 3D representations of real world objects.
Step 1: Gather your LEGO pieces You will need the following LEGO pieces to build a basic LEGO chicken:
Step 3: Build the chicken head Take the white brick (2x2) and attach it to the front of the chicken body. Then, attach the two white bricks (1x2) to the sides of the white brick (2x2) to form the head of the chicken.
Step 4: Add the chicken beak and eyes Take the yellow plate (1x1) and attach it to the front of the chicken head, centered on the white brick (2x2). Then, attach the two black round plates (1x1) to the yellow plate (1x1), creating the chicken's eyes and beak.
Step 5: Add the chicken feet Take the two white plates (1x2) and attach them to the bottom of the chicken body, at the end opposite the head, creating the chicken's feet.
You now have a simple LEGO chicken! You can add more details, such as wings or tail feathers, if you like.
Step 1: Gather your LEGO pieces You will need the following LEGO pieces to build a basic LEGO robot:
Step 2: Build the robot body Start by placing the gray plate (4x4) on a flat surface. Then, attach the two gray plates (2x4) to the sides of the gray plate (4x4), forming the body of the robot.
Step 3: Build the robot head Take the gray plate (2x2) and attach it to the top of the robot body. Then, attach the two gray bricks (2x2) to the sides of the gray plate (2x2) to form the head of the robot.
Step 4: Add the robot eyes Take the two black round plates (1x1) and attach them to the gray bricks (2x2), creating the robot's eyes.
Step 5: Add the robot arms Take the two gray bricks (1x2) and attach them to the sides of the robot body, near the bottom. Then, attach the two black bricks (1x2) to the gray bricks (1x2), forming the robot's arms.
You now have a simple LEGO robot! You can add more details, such as legs or weapons, if you like.
Step 3: Build the apple stem Take the green plate (1x1) and attach it to the top of the red brick (2x2), creating the stem of the apple.
Step 3: Build the banana stem Take the green plate (1x1) and attach it to the top of the yellow brick (2x4), creating the stem of the banana.
Step 3: Build the airplane wings Take the gray plates (2x4) and attach them to the sides of the airplane body, creating the airplane wings.
Step 4: Add the airplane details Attach the black plate (2x4) to the bottom of the airplane body to create the landing gear. Then, attach the red plate (1x2) to the front of the airplane body to create the airplane propeller.
Step 3: Add the fish tail Attach the two blue plates (1x2) to the back of the fish body to create the fish tail.
Step 4: Add the fish details Attach the yellow plate (1x2) to the front of the fish body to create the fish's mouth. Then, attach the two white plates (1x1) to the sides of the fish body to create the fish's eyes.
